About Us

Superstition Motors Ltd is the dream of a young man with a passion for solving automotive problems and making vehicles work. After studying mechanical engineering, working as a production welder, fabricator and auto mechanic – and re-building and driving a championship race vehicle, Jack Doherty opened Superstition Motors Ltd. to bring his talent and services to the public.

Named after California’s Superstition Mountain desert recreation area, Superstition Motors opened for business in July of 2009.

Jack’s first employee was Mike Bruner – an ASE Certified Technician with ten years of experience repairing Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles. In 2011, Marine veteran Rick Boyer joined the team. Rick is an ASE Certified Master Technician with Ford Service Technician Specialty Training Certification. Jack runs the business, works with customers, and specializes in alignment, suspension and collision damage assessment.

Together they bring a commitment to safety, quality and customer service.

Since opening, Superstition Motors has gained experience with the mechanical aspects of collision repair and has added automotive machine and engine rebuilding services.

Jack is an ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician and an ASE Certified Collision Repair Technician.  He holds certificates in engine repair, engine performance, brakes,  suspension and steering, drive trains and axles, automatic transmissions/transaxles, heating and air conditioning, and electrical/electronic systems, structural analysis and damage repair, non-structural analysis and damage repair, and  mechanical and electrical components.

Superstition Motors Ltd is licensed by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (Lic. # 258762).
